Must see for the rematch: Can Devin Haney overcome Jose Ramirez despite prolonged questions about his condition?

Bill Haney claims that Devin Haney is mentally working in all eight cylinders after facing Ryan Garcia last year.

With a hot sheet

When asked if Devin was okay, Bill said, “aura” He throws it away. He seemed to dodge the question by speaking in generality and talking about mumbo jumbo that made little sense.

How he danced, he lit the spotlight on his being questioned, giving the impression that he was in a hot seat. He appears to have been not keen to answer questions.

Fans want to know if Haney still exists physically and whether he can handle the next fight against dangerous Jose Ramirez at Times Square in New York City on May 2nd. If Devin isn’t OK, he won’t be going to last for Ramirez. Bill knows that Haney has to win this fight to get a rematch with Ryan in October. The loss here means there will be no rematch.

Former WBC and WBO 140 pound champion Ramirez (29-2, 19 KOs) have already revealed that he is scheduled to swing due to the fence. He is about to test whether Haney can still take the punch.

“A unified champion of Olympic athletes and he has a lovely left hook,” Bill Haney said. Cigar Talk Devin Haney returns from a long layoff to face the 2012 Olympian and former WBC and WBO light welterweight champion Jose Ramirez.

In other words, Bill chose Ramirez for Haney’s comeback opponent. Obviously, he couldn’t pick his ass as Devin was paid well from Turki to get on the deadly Fury card on May 2nd. Bill may have been unable to choose something lower than Ramirez for Turki to agree. It would be interesting if Gary Antuanne Russell was chosen as Haney’s opponent on the May 2nd card. But if he was chosen, it would have been too dangerous as Haney would lose, and that would ruin the rematch with Ryan.

“So why don’t they want to happen, ready for the ultimate grim match that has to come back with the same look,” Bill said. “Both of them said it wouldn’t happen, whether it was Oscar (de la Jolla) or Ryan. Of course, we made it happen.”

Ryan would have had a rematch with Haney. Why wasn’t he trying to dodge the fight due to the conflict he won so easily? Kingley wanted Haney to drop the lawsuit before agreeing to a rematch.

“It took a lot of business for that to happen. I always want to pay tribute to Devin for being young 26 years old and always being able to handle his business the right way,” Bill said. “Picking a man doesn’t mean you’re cherry picking like any other fighter.

Some argue that most of Haney’s career battles were cherry picks. The only one that was against Ryan and Vasily Lomachenko. Haney won two division titles against George Kambosos and Regis Programis. It’s not exactly a killer line.

“When you talk about filing a lawsuit, and the reason it’s expanding is because it’s Devin,” Bill said. “They played dirty (rematch) saying no one wanted to see the fight. If they went into the ring, there were no lawsuits,” Bill said of how Ryan Garcia negotiated Devin that he would withdraw the lawsuit if he agreed to the rematch.

Bill still doesn’t understand why fans roasted Haney in his lawsuit. The reason Haney received so much criticism from fans had nothing to do with his personal dislike. Because it’s a sign of a weakness and fans can’t respect it.

Bill’s “Aura” story

“Devin is the most skilled fighter in boxing when the arena is flat. He’s something special,” Bill said. “He doesn’t need pedo. He doesn’t need it. Tell the fans about the aura he has. If you can get around people and feel good about them, you know their aura is unharmed.

“You know their s*** is straight,” Bill said when asked if Haney was mentally okay after playing Ryan Garcia on April 20 last year. “He can feel hungry, determined and achieved a 26-year-old man already,” Bill said.
