Nancy Mace confronts a trans suspect who threatens to kill her: “No joke.”
Rep. Nancy MaceRs.C. praised a South Carolina judge on Friday. She also waved the suspect’s father.
Samuel Theodore Cain, who identified herself as transgender and uses the name “Roxie Wolfe,” was arrested on May 15 by a state agent who allegedly posted a graphic threat targeting Mace and her child. Cain remains in custody and has no trial date set.
The judge cited the seriousness of the threat during the hearing.
“Mr. Cain, I believe you are a reliable threat. I will leave you to the bond,” the judge said. “The only conditional bond I have with you right now is not contact with the victim.”

Mace flew from Washington, D.C., issued a victim’s impact statement in court Friday morning before speaking with reporters.
“I will come before you not only as a victim today, but as a member of the US House of Representatives who has become a direct and reliable target of threats in her life,” she told the judge.
She explained how the threat changed her routine, sought shelter and forced her to increase law enforcement patrols for her home and Congressional office.
“This meant I was vulnerable. My staff were vulnerable. And my kids were vulnerable,” she said. “This kind of threat is an act of terror intended to shake up the foundations of democracy.”

Outside the court, Mace reflected in Friday’s bond hearing, and ultimately saw Cain in person.
“My first thought was, he was huge,” she said. “This guy was well over 6 feet and over 200 pounds. I’m 5 feet-6, 115 pounds. He’s twice my size. It was scary.
“As a mom, this was heartbreaking. All I could think of was his family. And my children. My children live in fear of being murdered.”
She was surprised but said she was grateful for the judge’s decision.
“We’ve seen how women are treated in this state, and I hope this gives them hope,” she said. “If a mentally ill man comes after us, we need to stand up to our rights. That’s what I saw the judge do today.”
After the hearing, Mace approached Cain’s family and waved his father’s hand.
“I shook my father’s hand, who threatened to kill my son, not from forgiveness, but from grace,” she posted on X.
“I want to thank Samuel Kane’s family,” she said in her comments to the media. “Their humility meant a lot to me. As moms, it meant something to see them appear. We are all human. But such a threat has to have consequences.”
Mace said the threat was found by Capitol police and was so serious that her staff and law enforcement asked her to go to a safe place.
“This was serious. No one knew where he was,” she said. “Law enforcement told me to get in right away. How realistic was that?”
She said the threats mark the casualties that have taken to everyday life.

“I face a threat every day. This is my second time this year. But I am suffering from death threats from trans activists and trans people every day. I don’t take them seriously in South Carolina or anywhere in the country.”
She warned that ongoing omissions could be fatal.
“One day, someone will pull the trigger. Someone will get the bullet. Someone will die.”
She also highlighted a broader pattern of violence, calling what she sees as a lack of accountability from Democrats.
“This case isn’t just about the threat of one man. It’s Culture tolerating violence To elected officials, especially women who speak up,” Mace said. “We don’t accept fear. The normalization of the threat to civil servants corrodes democracy from within.
“No one Democrats spoke to me to say it was wrong,” she added. “Only Democrats blame the victims.”
On social media, Mace shared a photo of Cain in an orange jumpsuit.
“This is not Roxy Wolf. This is not a woman. I’m not kidding me about threatening my life. Watch him smirk,” she posted.
Mace ended her statement in court with a pleading for justice.
“I pray for this young man Find God, Who can turn the heart of stone into the heart of flesh,” she said. it’s not. It’s a criminal. And it must be treated that way. ”
