Navarro hones his feud with Elon Musk: “Boys become boys”
White House trade advisor Peter Navarro has dismissed concerns about the feud between him and the billionaire Elon Musk, The two administrative advisors claim there is a “great” relationship.
“First of all, Elon and I are great. That doesn’t matter,” Navarro said when he appeared on NBC News’ Meet the Press on Sunday.
The comments come after Navarro and Musk were intertwined in a public war of words after Navarro said in an interview last week. Tesla mask It is a more “automobile assembler” than an “automobile manufacturer” that relies on parts from other countries.

“We all understand that in the White House (and Americans understand), Elon is an automaker. But he is not an automaker. He is a car assembler,” Navarro told CNBC. “Many times, when you go to his Texas factory, the majority of the engines he gets (in the case of EVs, there’s a battery) comes from Japan and comes from China. The electronics come from Taiwan.”
This point seems to have not sat well with the musk he took to X to protect his car company.
“Navarro is really stupid. What he’s saying here is clearly wrong,” Musk said.
“Tesla has the most American-made cars. Navarro is more ridiculous than a brick bag,” Musk added in a later post.

However, Navarro downplayed Sunday’s public war and praised Musk’s contribution to the Trump administration.
“Eron is all fine,” Navarro said. “And look, Elon does a very good job with his team in waste, fraud, abuse. It’s a huge contribution to America. And anyone doing that should not be exposed to bombing his car by insanity.”
