Nemo Dagger Osmo Tent Review (2025): Two Backcountry Palaces

Looking at the photos, you will notice that the atmosphere of rain arcs at both ends of the tent. This saves a bit of weight and improves ventilation, but it was one of the areas I was worried about when I reviewed the three version a few years ago. Thankfully, this was never a problem. The tub floor (exposed under the fly) proves waterproof enough for my use.

Speaking of bathtub floors, there is the clip-in vestibule floor, which is the shape of a bathtub. Nemo calls this the landing zone. It’s a little extra triangle of fabric that covers about half of the front yard and protects the gear stored there from the water that could come under the backsplash and fly. Stay in the rain, which helps to maintain the shape of the bathtub.

The landing zone weighs very little (1.7 oz), making the front yard much easier to use, drying the gear even when the ground is wet. It’s a great feature that made me feel grateful for on rainy days.

What I really like about Nemo’s tents against other options like copper spurs is the attention to detail. The landing zone, ceiling headlamp pocket (turns headlights into lanterns and reddish-light lanterns), quick clip fly attachments, the fact that it means it’s closer to the vertical sidewalls means the door can use a straight zipper (which can be opened with one hand), and a nice hook that can roll the front door and the inside door.

There are a few trade-offs here. The bigger one is weight. This is not a tent for ultra-light backpackers, through-hikers, or anyone looking for a minimalist construction with very low weight. If that’s yours, look to tarps and non-freezing tents Only the moon. Again, although it’s divided into two people, I think a dagger-like 4-pound tent would be perfectly acceptable.

Another trade-off: Nemo is heading towards the high end of the price spectrum. In my experience, the Dagger Osmo 2P is worth an investment thanks to the combination of high quality materials, durability and attention to detail.
