New enemy Top Rank Scramble offers to challenge Keyshawn Davis’ WBO lightweight title at Norfolk Homecoming as Edwin de los Santos refuses
Top Rank needs another option for his first defense of Keyshawn Davis in his WBO lightweight title on June 7th in his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. Their original target, Edwin de los Santos, declined the offer.
It is unclear whether Top Rank will increase its financial offer to Delos Santos (16-2, 14 KOs) or move towards another opponent. The offer is rumoured to be $200,000.

Keyshawn next spoke about fighting Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz after capturing the WBO 135-lb against Denys Berinchyk on February 14th. He has since been quiet about his fight with Pitbull. That is, there was no interest from popular Mexican fighters.
Top Ranks can always bring in the #1 WBO Raymond Muratalla or #1 WBC Andy Cruz for the Battle of Keyshawn on June 7th, but it is unlikely that they will. They’re working so hard to turn Keyshaun into a superstar, and matching him with Andy Cruz and Muratara could ruin their goals.
Keyshaun is a good fighter, but he is injured by a weaker fighter than Muratara, and he has already lost four times against the amateur Cruz. He openly does not want to be part of the fight against the Cuban 2020 Olympic Gold Medalist Cruise. Top Rank doesn’t want to see him lose. Davis is carefully matched by them.
De Los Santos has not fought in two years since losing to Shakur Stevenson on November 16th, 2023. It is understandable why he hesitates to feel like he looks lighter than he feels worthy of fighting a fighter like Keyshawn, and can fight in accommodation.
Away from a long two-year layoff, essentially fighting welterweights and having a massive crowd of pro-davis would put Delos Santos in a near-significant situation. You cannot blame him for rejecting the offer you were given to him. If he loses to Keyshaun, he will hurt his marketability. Fans didn’t mind that he was fighting a much bigger man away from his two-year layoff in his hometown.
He drew a crowd of 10,000 at Davis’s Battle with Gustavoremos at the Norfolk Scope Arena on November 8th last year. Keyshawn needs to make good money from that gate.
Plan B is required
Tevin Farmer There are good options for Keyshawn to fight June 7th, but he might be a little too tough as he can punch him. Keyshawn is dangerous to take the shot of a farmer attacking William Zepeda in a rematch.
“Top Rank is seeking a new rival to Keyshawn Davis on June 7 in Norfolk, Virginia. Edwindero Los Santos declined their final financial offer after an oral agreement was already reached,” Salvador Rodriguez said. x.
