Newcastle rejects opening offer for Liverpool’s Alexander Isaac
Liverpool failed in the hoped start bid of Newcastle striker Alexander Isaac.
Athletic Report Merseysider followed up an informal investigation with a formal offer rejected by Newcastle.
Isak is currently training on his own at former club Real Sociedad while Newcastle is taking part in a preseason tour of the Far East.
ISAK is not interested in extending his stay in Newcastle
Since moving from Sociedad to Newcastle in August 2022, Isak has scored 54 goals in 86 Premier League matches, establishing himself as one of the elite centre forwards on top flights.
He remains on the contract for three years, and the club tried to convince him to sign a new deal, including a release clause for next summer.
However, Swedish International has revealed that they would like to leave Liverpool and participate instead.
Newcastle initially claimed that Isaac was excluded from pre-season trips. This is because he said he wanted to explore travel from St. James Park, and was injured due to minor thigh injuries only because reports would come out soon after.
His actions are not going well with Newcastle’s fanbase with a banner with the 25-year-old “rat” hanging outside the training ground yesterday.
Newcastle’s desperate summer
If Isak wins his wish, he will join the stacked Liverpool forward line already strengthened this summer by the arrival of Florian Wiltz and Hugo Ekitique.
Ekitike is one of many players who have rejected Newcastle over the past few weeks, and includes lists such as Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Bryan Mbeumo, and James Trafford.
Tynesiders still wants to bring in a new striker, whether Isak will remain on his wish list or not.
Sesco is also wanted by Manchester United.
