“As widely reported, the gunman committed unspeakable violence in the 345 Park Avenue building. One of our employees was seriously injured in the attack,” the message read. “He is currently in the hospital and is in a stable state. The NFL staff are in the hospital and we are supporting his family.

“We believe that all our employees are safe and explained, and the building is pretty much cleared.”

Goodell was added to use emergency information to pay attention to all notifications as the situation remained fluid.

According to the NYPD, the NYPD officer killed in the shooting has been identified as 36-year-old Didalur Islam, an immigrant from Bangladesh. He was one of two uniformed officers at 345 Park Avenue when the shooting occurred, but he worked as security for the Rudin Management Company inside the building on Monday.

“We are deeply grateful to the law enforcement officers who responded quickly and decisively to this threat, and to the Islamic instructors who gave their lives to protect others,” Goodell wrote.

NYC police Commissioner Jessica Tish identified the shooter who acted alone. Shane Tamra, 27, is a Las Vegas resident with a history of mental health issues.

Tish said Tamra traveled across the cross country and his vehicle was last seen in Columbia, New Jersey.

Security video shows Tamura entering the lobby at 345 Park Avenue and immediately fired fire, shooting multiple people dead. He then shot the guard behind the desk with an M4 assault rifle, Tish said.

Tamura was waiting for the elevator. So he allowed the woman to leave her unharmed and then take it to the 33rd floor. He eventually began shooting and killing others before taking his life, police said.

Tamura was approved to carry concealed weapons in Nevada.

The NYPD has cleared each floor of the building to ensure everyone is safe and ensure there are no other shooters.

As part of a letter to employees, Goodell mentioned the league’s resources available to help employees deal with tragic events.

“As you know, there are important resources available to all employees, including grief counselors,” writes Goodell. “Soon, HR will send you detailed information on available resources and how to utilize them.
