NFL News: John Gruden recalls Peyton Manning’s hilarious jab
former NFL Head Coach John Gruden has a story of football for days. Especially when it comes to the quarterback surrounding him.
In his latest episode of Gruden’s QB Class on Barstool Sports, the former coach 2025 NFL Draft When Seth Hennigan of Memphis raised the play during his career while facing Payton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
Gruden’s team did not designate a team at the time called the Manning and Colts’ Full Bright Bright. But sending the house wasn’t going to throw away one of the sharpest quarterbacks of all time.

“When they start us all out, it’s going to be the last time they’ll do it.” Gruden told Hennigan. “I made it Payton Manning. We called for an all-out blitz against Payton Manning. He saw it, he flashed the signal on his hand and then he touched down.”
When Gruden saw the Colts score, he said Manning had made it rubbing.

Manning is known for his ability to read defenses before snaps, making the necessary adjustments to get offensive lines and positive yards.
And Gruden wasn’t the only head coach who saw Manning accurately analyze his team and saw a touchdown as the final result.
Manning twice Super Bowl The champions are with the Colts in 2007 and one with the Denver Broncos in 2016. He is third in a passing yard (71,940) in his Hall of Fame career.
Hennigan hopes that his NFL career will peer into the NFL draft and get closer to Manning’s career.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound signal character is just hoping to be drafted and there’s probably a lot to do to crack the 53-man roster before the 2025 campaign.
Hennigan was a productive quarterback in Memphis. Memphis was a four-year starter, setting a school record and tying an AAC record with 104 career path touchdowns.
