NFL News: Terry McClaurin requests a deal from commander in contract talks

Things just got interesting Washington Commanderas Star Wide Receiver Terry McClaurin, who is being held at training camp, reportedly demanded trade.
The Commander and McClaulin have not looked at contract extensions. Jordan Schultz On Thursday, McClaurin reported that she now wants.
The contract status was thought to lead to McLaurin’s trade demands, but he reported to training camp earlier this week. He was on the active/PUP list due to an ankle injury.

Having earned more than 1,000 yards in each of the last five seasons, McClaurin is still one year in the $71 million deal he signed with Washington in 2022.
McLaurin wants to be one of the league’s top pass catchers, and is thought to be around $32 million per season.

If McLaurin signs a contract with that average annual value, it would put him just outside the upper tier of NFL receivers. Jammer Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings Dallas Cowboys“Ceedee Lamb is the highest-paid receiver in the NFL today.
McLaurin’s current asking price ranges from DK Metcalf for the Pittsburgh Steelers ($33 million per season), Garrett Wilson for the New York Jets ($32.5 million) and AJ Brown for the Philadelphia Eagles ($32 million).
But Metcalf is two years younger than McClaurin, but for example, he is in the same draft class. And they have some comparable statistics.

Metcalf totaled 438 yards and 48 touchdowns for 6,324 yards in time with the Seattle Seahawks. McClaurin tallied 460 receptions for 6,379 yards with 38 scores.
McLaurin offered up his first four-day training camp, which was fined $50,000 per day. By reporting to the camp and being held in, McClaulin avoids fines from Washington.
Several outlets report that the commander has no intention of replacing McLaurin.
“I want to make these things faster, but that doesn’t always happen that way,” GM Adam Peters said on the first day of training camp. All ESPN.
