NFL News: Titans Edge Rusher suddenly retires one day before training camp

Tennessee Titan Veteran Edge Rush Lorenzo Carter announced that he notified his teams on Tuesday, just one day before training camp began on Wednesday.

Carter, 29, signed a one-year contract with Titan during his free agency ahead of the 2025 season.

“He informed us yesterday that he would be retiring,” Titans general manager Mile Borgonzi said. announcement, “That’s why we really hope for him.”

Carter played in NFL Seven seasons after the New York Giants selected him in the third round of the Georgia 2018 NFL Draft.

In four seasons with the Giants, Carter made 153 total tackles, 14.5 sacks, one intercept, 15 passes, five forced fumbles and four fumble recovery.

After a four-year stint with the Giants, Carter signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Falcons. Carter started all 17 games that season, and offered it on a two-year, $9 million contract the following season.

Last season, Carter started 11 of the 13 games he played, with 32 combined tackles and no Falcon sacks.

Without Carter, the Titans have seven edge rushes on their roster. Ardenkey, Dolemant Jones, Femiora Dejo, Jalen Harrell, Alligay, Titus Leo, Desmond Evans.
