Ogrethorpe Mall shooting in Savannah, Georgia hurts multiple people

Several people, including one boy, were injured in the mall Savannah, Georgiaofficials said Wednesday.

Savannah Police Station Six people have been taken to hospital after the shooting at Oglethorpe Mall that occurred around 5:45pm local time.

Police say three people suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds, while the other three suffered from non-gun-fire-related medical complications.

One of the people who suffered the gunshot wound was a boy, police added.

Police and firefighters responded to Ogrethorpe Mall in Savannah, Georgia after reports of shootings that injured several people. (Google Earth)

All six victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Firefighter The International Association of Firefighters, a labor union for Savannah firefighters, also responded to the mall, confirming that some of its members were sent to the scene to assist in the care of patients and transport the victim to a local hospital.

Police said the mall has been evacuated and there is no threat at this time.

“The Savannah report is devastating,” said Georgia Attorney General Chris Kerr. “My office is closely monitoring the situation and is in touch with local law enforcement agencies. We are ready to support them with anything they need.”
