Edmonton Oilers Stars Conor McDavid and Leon Draysightle were pretty ringers at Magna Centre in Newmarket, Ontario for a Beer League match last Wednesday, but in reality they were missed by opponents who have quite a hockey story for the rest of their lives.

The link is just minutes from where McDavid grew up, and he has his crime partner worn in an Oilers jersey on the ice.

Fans in the stands couldn’t believe their eyes as they watched McDavid and Draysightle competed against their loved ones and friends. However, the Edmonton star couldn’t tally the usual points at night.

In fact, neither player scored a goal.

Instead, there was a clip that went viral on social media for goalkeepers on other teams, making a sweet save to McDavid’s shot.

They hope to try again in the 2025-26 season to defend their Western Conference title and lift the Stanley Lord’s cup instead of going home empty-handed.

Draisaitl has been locked up with the Oilers for the future after signing an eight-year deal last year, but McDavid is set to become an unlimited free agent after this season.
