Openai launches data residency program in Asia
Openai is Introducing the new data residency program Asia announced on Thursday following the rollout of its data residency program in Europe in February.
The new programs available to Openai’s ChatGPT Enterprise, ChatGpt Edu and Openai APIs aim to help Asian-based organizations meet local data sovereignty requirements while using the AI companies’ products. Eligible API customers and new ChatGPT Enterprise and EDU subscribers can choose to store data in supportive countries such as Japan, India, Singapore and South Korea.
“For API platforms and CHATGPT business products, data is confidential, secure and fully owned.” I wrote Openai in a blog post. “Data residency further enhances organizational data control.”
The Asian Data Residency program debuts as Openai appears to accelerate its expansion overseas. This week, the company announced Open for the countrythe initiative, Openai, says it will be able to build the infrastructure needed to properly cater to international clients.
