Oregon Restaurant Owners charge people what they can afford at popular eateries
More lovingly known by her community as Meemaw, Elise Stevens runs a salary-based restaurant in Union, Oregon, fueled by her faith, where she feeds hundreds of food each week.

Stephens, who donated all of the social media revenue he earned to restaurants, opened the location last June. Her story and how she arrived here returns to a very abusive relationship She ran away nearly 20 years ago.
“I was hostage for five months while pregnant with my oldest daughter. I gave birth in captivity and when she was three weeks old, I was captured and met my husband,” Meemaw said. “I had to put my safety into my own hands, so I jokingly asked if he was my bodyguard. Just a few weeks later, we got married.
Her mother maintained such positivity as she strived daily to “live like Jesus” by “studying spiritual warfare.”
“I was angry God taught by religion About me… I stopped being mad. I began to forgive, and by doing so I started to find myself again,” she said.

In late 2023, Stephens claimed he told her he “heard God.”
“Within a few weeks, I had sourdough bread bread coming out of my ears. I made my own starter. I made everything myself. I was handing everyone in town the sourdough bread, and then I started selling bagels from home. Fox News Digital.
Lasr April, Stevens said that God told her to open the restaurant again. Her husband Derek was first shot down, reminding them that they “has no money.”
“God will provide,” replied Meemaw.
The food spot owner claims that a woman from the community handed her a $5,000 check and opened the restaurant within a month.

Stevens tells her she cooks 30-80 meals a day for free, and 30-80 meals a day, but is often asked how her restaurant funds I will feed many people.
“I earn money from social media. I earn (an) income telling stories to different outlets, different fields, and all forms of money that make from my stories and donates to my restaurants,” she said. “We are also funded by donations from people all over the United States.”
Stevens said, “I don’t do this for fame, I literally give God all the glory. This is God’s restaurant, this is God’s way, and God’s guided.
