Oscar Mayer Turkish Bacon will be recalled nationwide, prompting potential listeria risks


Over 367,000 pounds of Oscar Mayer Turkish Bacon recall In addition to concerns that the product could be contaminated with Listeria bacteria, it could potentially cause severe infections.

Recall – voluntarily issued Kraftheinz,– Covers fully cooked, vacuum-packed Oscar Mayer turkey bacon produced between April 24th and June 11th.

The affected products were shipped to US stores and to Virgin Islands in the UK and Hong Kongthe USDA’s food safety inspection service was announced Wednesday.

As of Wednesday, the company had not received any consumer complaints or reports of illness, a Kraft Heinz spokesperson told Fox News Digital in an email.

“At Craft Heinz, nothing is important to us more than the safety of our products or the happiness of our families who trust them,” the spokesman said. “…In line with safety protocols, we are actively working with all our retail partners and distributors to remove potentially affected products from distribution.”

Recalled products include:

  • The 12-ounce package of the Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon uses Original with a UPC code printed under the BAR code. They have a date and lot code RS40 from July 18th to August 2nd.
  • The 36-ounce package for the Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon includes three 12-ounce product packages, including three 12-ounce product packages with UPC code 071871548748 printed under the barcode. These include dates of use and lot codes RS19, RS40 and RS42 from July 23rd to September 4th.
  • The 48-ounce package for the Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon includes four 12-ounce product packages, including four 12-ounce product packages with UPC code 071871548793 printed under Barcode. These include dates and lot codes RS19, RS40 and RS42 from July 18th to September 4th.

Recalled products should not be consumed, they should either be thrown away or returned to the store where they purchased them, the USDA said.

The problem was discovered later Lab Test Some Oscar Mayer turkey bacon products have shown that they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogen.

According to the USDA, eating foods contaminated with Listeria monocytogen can cause listeriosis.

In May, fresh and ready foods were similarly reminiscent of some ready-to-eat foods, according to the Food and Drug Administration, after a listeria outbreak linked to the remaining products that were left behind by at least 10 people hospitalized in California and Nevada.
