Passengers with no AC on Amtrak trains got stuck in heatwave

The Northeast Regional Amtrak Train 94 reportedly was stuck in the Baltimore and the Potomac Tunnels towards Wilmington, Delaware, in front of Baltimore Penn Station.
A report from Fox 5 Washington DC showed passengers were on trains that had stagnated for more than an hour without electricity or air conditioning, with limited cell service.

When contacted by Fox News Digital, Amtrak provided the following statement:
“After the locomotive malfunction, passengers from Amtrak Train 94 were moved to Baltimore Station to provide train service at their final destination. Service recovery began on board with snack packs and bottled water. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Amtrak Northeast warned X travelers to consider re-booking if they were planning to ride a 94 train from Wilmington to Boston.
“Travel Advisory: For customers traveling between Wilmington (Will) and Boston (BOS) on Train 94, please use the Self-Modified option to re-book the next available train to your destination,” the post reads.
“For assistance, please see Station Representative or Text 268725. We sincerely appreciate your inconvenience and apologise for any inconvenience.”

According to Fox weather, the northeastern region experienced some of the hottest temperatures seen in the century on Monday, with warnings of extreme heat all the way to the East Coast.

“The vast heat domes brought temperatures above 90 degrees for more than 190 million Americans in the eastern region, but it wasn’t just the hotter that people would find miserable,” Fox Weather reported. “The humidity is rising sharply, and the dew point has risen in the ’70s.”
