Patreon will increase the number of cuts taken from new creators
Patreon, a monetization platform for creators that offers membership programs and digital products; announcement The price structure was changed on Monday.
Currently, Patreon gets 8% cuts or 12% cuts from creators, depending on the tier they choose, but the 8% plan is much more popular.
Instead, the new pricing plan offers one universal tier and maintains 10% of the creator’s revenue.
Existing Patreon creators don’t have to worry. This price increase will only affect creators who will publish a new patreon page on August 4, 2025.
“Since last updated prices six years ago, Patreon has expanded beyond payments to include media hosting, community and discovery,” the company wrote in a blog post.
Price increases are by no means a popular announcement, but Patreon has its points. We’ve added a number of new features over the past few years. These include Native Video Hosting, Live streamingfree membership, Digital product salesand Gift Subscription.
Still, if you’ve ever considered setting up a Patreon account, you might want to ride it in the next few weeks and lock that 8% rate.
