Pep Guardiola praises it is “fun”

Lucas Bergval says it was a pleasant experience to receive praise from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

The young Tottenham midfielder received praise from Spanish coaches following an impressive exhibit against City in late February despite the Spurs’ 1-0 loss at home.

Tottenham endured annoying nights, but Bergval’s performance in the midfield stood out as a highlight on the Anjipost Ecoglu side.

His influence on the game attracted the attention of Guardiola, who praised Swedish international at his post-match press conference.

“Bergball, every time he runs with the ball, he can’t stop,” Guardiola said.

“Spence, Pedro Polo, Udogie, Crucevsky, son.

Now, on an international mission with Sweden, Bergval was asked about Guardiola’s remarks and shared his perspective on receiving such recognition.

“It’s fun, of course, but in the big picture it really doesn’t matter,” he told SVT Sport. “I’m just trying to play soccer and develop a team.

Despite Tottenham’s struggle this season, the club was sitting 14th in the Premier League, so the emergence of Bergball and the young fellow Archie Gray provided optimism.

Postecoglou needs to navigate the seasons suffering from injuries, and Bergvall believes this situation is particularly difficult for certain players.

“I honestly don’t think we’re taking into account how much damage we’re doing.

On the international stage, Bergval made four advanced appearances in Sweden, but has not yet started the game.

But that changes quickly as national team coach John Dahl Thomason confirmed he was in the starting lineup for friendly relations with Sweden’s Luxembourg.

“It’s fun, but that’s not something I thought of so much,” Bergval said. “John and I talked a bit, but there’s nothing more specific. I think I can play here like I did at Tottenham and contribute as much as I can.”
