Phillies’ Bryce Harper pulls away gender reveal with a custom bat


Pink and blue bats are usually reserved for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day In the major leagueshowever, Monday marked an exception.

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper Looking forward to his fourth child later this year, he wanted to bring his gender public to the field.

So he ordered two bats, one pink and one blue, and asked his teammate Shortstop Traia Turner to break the big news.

“He asked me to help me publicize my gender early today, and although I was confused at first, he wanted to share the moment with us.

However, Turner had this opportunity and wasn’t going to make it easier with Harper.

“I ruined him a bit with the dugout. I picked up the pink one and wielded him a bit,” Turner said. “I thought he had a girl.”

However, Harper came to the plate with a blue bat.

“He was pretty happy.”

“He was kind enough to ask me to do it and I thought it was a good moment for him and his family. It was pretty cool and a pretty special day,” added Turner.

Turner and Harper were also teammates. Washington, DC and the Nationals Before Harper headed for Philadelphia. Turner signed with NAT on an 11-year, $300 million contract prior to the 2023 season after a brief mission with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Harper took a strike at the plate and the Phillies lost 10-4 to the Red Hot San Francisco Giants, so it wasn’t all fun at Citizens Bank Park on Monday.
