Point your finger to Liverpool Stars after a humble defeat to Slot Point Plymouth
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot says there were many things his team could have done better after losing to Plymouth in the FA Cup.
The penalty in the second half was game-specific, but the Reds struggled to create a chance 0-0.
After re-finding the Carabao Cup final at a week’s high, slot swallowed the humble pie without complaints.
He said: “I think they can do better. But it’s the system and playstyle (from Plymouth) and it’s very difficult to create a chance for it.
“That’s what we saw today. We saw a lot of long balls, a second ball, and I wasn’t surprised. That was expected.
“It’s not always easy to create opportunities when teams aren’t playing each other multiple times. We were hoping they would play a better game than this, but we did Plymouth. There are also achievements.
“A great game from Plymouth, they deserve all the credits for today’s performance.”

“I think it hurts everyone. That includes Liverpool fans, me, and players. We all wanted to be in this competition for as long as possible. When we go out to the first possible game, we can see. That’s a sad way.
“Today, they continued to fight until the last moment. Maybe the only chance we created was the last five, ten, fifteen minutes. It wasn’t a workplace issue, they worked really hard. However, they were unable to find an opening and could not find a chance.
“We have to keep working rates the same. In the upcoming games we have to be a little more creative.”
