Postecoglou still believes in Tottenham players despite Liverpool’s thrashing
Ange Postecoglou fights back against Tottenham critics and says that despite his poor form he holds full belief in his players.
The Spurs were hit 4-0 at Liverpool in the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-finals at Liverpool last night, with the Merseysiders cruising 4-1 in total.
Sky critics Jamie Redknap and Jamie Karager were then stuck with Post Coglu and his team, sitting 14th in the Premier League.
Former Spurs midfielder Rednap said, “I can’t remember that my lifelong team has faded away when it’s less than it’s fighting like it does today.” Carragher added:
“Whenever they go to a big game, you don’t think they’ll win.”
Villa for the struggling Spurs
Next up to Tottenham is the 4th round tie of the FA Cup at Aston Villa on Sunday evening.
“We returned at 2am, so what’s more important is they rest.”

Postecoglou said: “They (players) have a lot. I’m wearing a mountain at the moment, it’s really easy for people to stick their boots and ask questions to the players, but that’s not what I do.
“We were disappointed last night that we didn’t go the way we wanted and didn’t play on the level, but that doesn’t define the players of this group in my eyes.
“We’re going out there on Sunday and giving more performances that reflect where we are. I’m going to do it with these players and what they’re going through and how they handle it. I have a lot of convictions about what is happening.”
There are no Villa Clash players
Postecoglou’s easing is a list of crippled injuries that have hampered progress this season.
Australians say the villa game is too early for walking injuries, but they hope that more players will be available when Manchester United visits North London next weekend.
“We’re still hoping to get two or three returns for the Man UTD game. We’re training for two weeks. We need to get a little exercise for most of these players. Someone else “I knew this would be a challenging week in terms of personnel,” he said.
Richarion Blow
Brazilian forward Recharson goes missing at Villa Park, dragging his foot at Anfield, where he appears to have been injured in a calf.
“That’s a shame for him. He was emotional. He’s working really hard to get back.
