Postecoglou will welcome six players against Manchester United, including Vicario and Maddison
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou received a massive boost set up to make six players return ahead of Sunday’s match against Manchester United.
After 11 players went missing at the FA Cup exit last Sunday at Aston Villa, the Spurs will be able to re-use goalkeeper Guglielmo Viario and midfielder James Madison, with Desiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert also return to action.
Postecoglou said: The people who played benefited quite a bit.
“Yes, in terms of injury, it’s good to get players back because players will improve their training quality. (Guglielmo) Vicario, yes. It’s really well trained.
“James Madison is going. We had Destiny (Udogie), Wilson (Odobert) and Brennan (Johnson) training at Group. They’re in a good place.”

“It would have been tough without Vicario.”
Italian goalkeeper Vialio has not played since smashing his ankle against Manchester City in November. Meanwhile, Postcoglo has used three different goalkeepers.
Signing Antonin Kinski in January endured a difficult afternoon at the villa, and Fraser Forster and Brandon Austin were also struggling with Vicario’s absence.
“Vic, he’s an outstanding goalkeeper. He’s that kind of thing among boys. He really moves everyone.
“We used three other goalkeepers so it was tough without him. They all contributed, none of them disappointed us. Vic is experienced.
“Madison has a huge self-confidence, and it filters through the team. He can start. It was a shorter thing, fate, we will see. Destiny, Wilson, Timo When (Werner) can play everything on stretch, when we have a weeker in the middle, I want to go to the space.”
van de Ven Return Imment, Romero
Postecoglou said defender Mickey Van de Ben has also returned and is waiting for news about the fitness of centre-back partner Christian Romero.
The Australian boss added:
“He’s working with people on his mechanism. He’s in a good space, he’s training and it feels really good. His return is imminent, but we want to make it right. It’s there.
“In (Christian) Romero, it was a healing issue. The injury hasn’t healed as quickly as we wanted. We may have pushed him, but we’re just waiting. Depending on what happens, his return may also be imminent.
“I’m not a doctor. There are barriers that you can’t cross when talking about injuries or medical care. Both are training in different places in recovery.”
