PSL 2025: Indian broadcasters will halt coverage of Pakistan’s Super League following Pahargam terrorist attack
Indian broadcasting stations Fancode and Sony Sports Network Ongoing coverage has been suspended Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025after the fatal terrorist attacks in Pahargam, Jammu and Kashmir. The move came as a sign of respect and protesting violence against the victims of the attack.
On April 22, 2025, the terrorist attacks in Pahargam killed 26 Indian tourists, causing widespread anger and lament across the country.
Fancode, the digital platform that officially streamed Indian PSL, quickly stopped all live streams after the attack. We’ve also removed all PSL-related content from the platform, including Match highlights and schedules. Sony Sports Network, which held the television rights for the Indian PSL, has stopped broadcasting all scheduled league matches.
Neither Fancode nor Sony Sports Network has issued an official statement detailing the duration of the suspension. However, sources within both broadcasting companies show that the decision was taken as a sign of solidarity with the victims’ families in response to national sentiment.
There is no bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan
India’s Cricket Committee (BCCI) has reiterated its stance on bilateral cricket ties with Pakistan. BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shuklaspeaking to the media on Thursday (April 24), highlighting that India will not engage in a bilateral cricket series with Pakistan given the general political situation and recent terrorist attacks.

The suspension of PSL broadcasts in India highlights the complex relationship between sports and politics, especially in the context of India-Pakistan relations.
