Queensbury Sign Joshua Buzzi: Can Frank Warren revive the declined career of a former Olympic athlete?
Queensbury signed the stables to light heavyweight candidate Joshua Buzzi. The battle between the former WBO interim 175 pound champion and the 2016 Olympian Butzi will be shown live on Dazn.
Buatsi performance concerns
Queensbury promoter Frank Warren has high hopes for the 32-year-old boots despite his poor performance in his final two fights with Calm Smith and Willie Hutchinson. Buzzi was kicked out in both battles, but was lucky to win Hutchinson.
Warren has the idea of potentially matching the boots with the winners with David Benavides vs. Anthony Yard Fight, or the winners of the Dmitry Biboll vs. Arthur Bettervief trilogy on November 22nd for the WBC Light Heavyweight title. It’s unlikely that Buzzi will get a shot against any of these fights.
Joshua Buatsi’s popularity issues
The problem is that Buzzi wasn’t a popular fighter, and he has problems in his last two fights. He is not considered an opponent that Benavidez or Biboru needs to want to fight. Buzzi is considered a regular domestic level fighter in the UK. There’s nothing special about him. Surprisingly, Warren chose to sign Callum Smith after a horrific defeat. He looked ready for the scrappile after that fight.

Warren should be placed through boots 175 predatory shark gauntlets To get his fans interested in being used in world title shots. There’s not enough fights with people like Craig Richards, Hutchins, Smith, and Dan Azzies. Buzzi must fight talented young fighters like David Morel and Imam Khatayev.
If he can’t get them, Warren will have to seduce super middleweights like Osley Iglesias, Diego Pacheco and Christian Mbili to fight Butzi. I can’t see him defeating any of those super middleweights, but these are the types of fighters he needs to fight to get more popular.
“After talking to multiple promoters, I have a comfortable plan for Queensbury. I’m a British fighter and the support I get from British fans means everything,” Joshua Butzi said.
“There’s nothing like fighting in front of a crowd of homes. Energy, passion, it drives me. In Queensbury, we have a team that understands that and supports me appropriately here in the UK.”
