Rangers “embarrassing” UEFA by banner brings fees in Fenerbahce game
The Ranger outlined the “slight” against the small number of supporters whose actions led to UEFA charges.
The European football governing body disciplined the Glasgow club after Rangers fans rolled up a banner read as “Wake up and protect foreign ideology – Protect Europe.” Last Thursday, the Europa League came into conflict with Fenerbafe.
The club issued a statement this morning, which responded. “It is deeply saddened and frankly embarrassing that the club has come to face significant sanctions on the actions of very few minorities.

“Firstly, the club was charged by the UEFA at an Ibrox conference with Fenerbafs last Thursday after several supporters showed what UEFA described as “racist and/or discriminatory flags.”
“The Rangers are a modern and progressive football club and we are proud of our diverse playing team, workforce and support to ensure that the club is in charge of such issues in 2025.
“The claim will have consequences for the club, but the club is also working to identify the person in charge, ensuring that they will face consequences as well.
“To avoid doubt, if you don’t believe in 2025, everyone is absolutely welcoming to follow Rangers, whether Ibrox or away, but Rangers are not the club for you.
Rangers face further accusations
The statement explains that UEFA has charged the club for throwing objects and blocking the aisle in the Fenner game.
The Rangers reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League and backed it up with a memorable 3-2 victory at Glasgow rival Celtic on Sunday, an unnecessary distraction for the Rangers after defeating Jose Mourinho’s men in a penalty shootout.
The statement concluded: “All of the above actions will have an impact on the club supporters and directly or indirectly.
“The rangers as a club stand with our supporters and defend their rights and ability to support their teams in the most passionate way possible, within the scope of the law and appropriate regulations.
“However, the club is also urging all reasonable supporters to support the club by heartfelt rejecting actions that disgrace the name of the Ranger and challenging the issues that lead to further punishment for the club, which is further punished by the relevant authorities.”
