Red suffers from a rare defeat as the title race lead remains at 11 points

Liverpool missed the chance to extend their lead to 14 points at the top of the Premier League. Three 14-minute goals led to a 3-2 victory at Craven Cottage.

The Reds knew they knew they would seal the title with a victory following Arsenal’s 1-1 draw at Everton on Saturday.

But Fulham’s response in punishing Liverpool’s infiltrating defense was epic, followed by Ryan Sesegnon’s smart finish, followed by biased efforts by Alex Iwobi and the sublime personal goals of Rodrigo Muniz.

Lewis Diaz pulled one back for Liverpool with 18 minutes remaining, but Arne Slot’s side couldn’t find the equalizer Fulham backed for a deserved victory that raised European football hopes.

Liverpool’s advantage over Arsenal is still a very impressive 11 points, almost certainly too much to overcome, but hoping it would be a victory march to the title is now similar to a stumbling on the line.

Liverpool’s Fulham

It was a shame the hosts were unable to receive a penalty early after a sloppy play from Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate.

Andreas Pereira laid the ball for Rodrigo Munis after Conate was confiscated, but Munis was not given the opportunity to turn into an unprotected net after both him and Pereira were defeated by Virgil van Dik and Kaoimhin Kelehaar.

Var checked the incident but did not determine that the play had been fouled. VanDijk’s collision seemed to coincide, and Liverpool made the most of that disappointment when he scored the second ball in the midfield and powered a drive beyond Bernd Leno with a good style.

However, Liverpool continued to look vulnerable in the back, generating a response as they found the lower right corner on their first strike after the visitors were unable to deal with it. Pereira’s right wing cross.

They completed the turnaround during Andy Robertson’s nightmare sequence that began when the Scottish defender’s dangerous cross-field pass was intercepted by Alex Iwobi.

Iwam’s initial efforts were blocked, but Robertson lost an air duel with Pereira, giving Iwam a second chance to aim and beat Kelleher on a deflected strike from Robertson.

For Liverpool, courtesy of Muniz’s brilliance, it quickly got worse for Liverpool. Muniz left Van Dick baked on his back before flicking the ball over Dutchman’s head and running down Keleher’s legs.

Liverpool’s break was followed by Diagon Jota’s flare up after Reno and almost invisible Mohamed Sarah were refusing to be fired up, but it was Diaz who ultimately gave them hope when he plunged into the house from Connor Bradley’s layoffs.

Harvey Elliott then broke the crossbar with Carl’s efforts, but after Federico Chiesa did the same, he later tested Reno, but Liverpool ended in a rare position where he surrendered slightly in the title race.
