Redrow begins construction of the Elm Grove Housing Project in the UK

House Builder Redrow has begun construction of Elm Grove, a new residential project in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England, which will introduce 247 homes.

The project includes 1-4 bedroom properties from the company’s Heritage collection, which combines architecture inspired by 1930s art and crafts with modern decor.

The home will feature plan’s open living area and design details, the company said.

Green space will be incorporated into the Elm Glove development. The project pledges more than £1.8 million ($2.36 million) to strengthen the community. These funds will strengthen public transport, healthcare and educational facilities.

Additionally, the project will incorporate Eco Electric Range homes with low carbon technologies and initiatives aimed at reducing energy costs for homes.

Eco Electric Properties includes air source heat pumps and underfloor heating as standard features, collaborating with Redrow’s goal of reaching net zero across operations and supply chains by 2050.

These homes are projected to provide homeowners with an average annual energy savings of over £970, based on a “fabric-first” approach that integrates energy efficiency into the structure of the building.

Elm Grove has access to transport links with regular train services to Bristol and Bath.

According to the company, the different types of homes under development are intended to cater to the tastes and lifestyles of a variety of buyers.

“We’ve been working hard to get the most out of our business,” said Sian Smith, Director of Redrow South West Sales.

“The development is surrounded by lots of green spaces and open countryside, but there are still great amenities nearby, making it a great place for those looking to live in a thriving community that benefits from both town and country life.

“We expect these houses to be extremely popular, so we recommend moving into this area and registering interests earlier than later.”

Meanwhile, Redrow announced that CEO Matthew Pratt would resign in June this year following the merger with Barratt.

Pratt will continue to work until the end of 2025.

The company’s COO and deputy CEO Stephen Boys will also retire in September this year.

£2.52 billion merger; received approval from UK Competition and Market Bureau, August 2024.
