Russia blamed a one-night strike in Kiev for killing several people and injured dozens of people


Ukrainian authorities Russia is responsible for overnight missile and drone attacks on Kiev, which killed nine people and injured 70 more people, including children.

The Kiev city junta said on its telegram channel that Russia attacked Kiev with drones and ballistic missiles. At least 45 drones have been detected, the administration said, adding that the Ukrainian air force will update the figures later.

The attack, which began around 1am, struck at least five neighbors in Kiev. In the Sviatoshynkskyi district, a fire broke out in a residential building that was damaged in the attack. More fires have been reported in Shevchenkivsky and Holosiivskyi districts.

At least 42 people have been hospitalized, according to Ukraine’s emergency services. The first responder worked in the morning and found a body under the tiled rub.

The attack comes hours after peace talks appeared to have stalled, and President Donald Trump said he was extending the “season of killing” by assaulting Ukrainian President Voldy Zelensky and handing over Crimea to Russia as part of a potential peace plan. Later that day, Trump said it was “difficult” to deal with Zelensky than Russia.

Zelenskyy has said many times that recognizing the occupied territory as a Russian is the red line of his country.
