Saim Ayub and Mohammad Nawaz shine in Pakistan’s victory over the West Indies in the 1st T20I
In the opening match of Pakistan Tour of the West Indies 2025Pakistan won a fierce battle against the West Indies on the grass at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium. Winning will lift Pakistan 1-0 Three-match T20I series.
Pakistan’s innings
After the West Indies won a toss and was selected for the bowl, Pakistan announced its competitiveness of 178/6 in 20 overs. The innings were pinned to an incredible performance from opener Saim Ayub. SaimAyub has won 57 brilliant things from 38 delivery, including five fours and two sixes. He was supported mid-term by Fakhar Zaman (28 off 24) and Hasan Nawaz (24 off 18). Towards the end, some key latening hits from Faheem Ashraf (9-16) and Mohammad Haris (1-6) helped drive the score to a challenging total. In the West Indies, Shamar Joseph was the bowler’s pick, taking three wickets for 30 runs, with Jason Holder, Aquil Hossain and Romario Shepherd each picking up wickets.
West Indies Innings
In their 179 pursuit, the West Indies got off to a solid start with openers Johnson Charles and Jewel Andrew building a stable partnership. However, the game lifted his head in one over from Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz. Homeside struggled to recover from this collapse despite some late ordering fireworks. Jason Holder made a brave effort to get his team closer, with 30 furious 30 holders, just 12 balls (including four sixes), and Shamar Joseph, who hit 21 to 21 innings, but it was too little and too late.
