SBA will move offices from LA over city’s refusal to cooperate with ice

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced on Saturday that it would be relocating its regional office from Los Angeles due to the city’s lack of cooperation. Immigration and customs enforcement (ice).
SBA administrator Kelly Loeffler said the agency will “quickly” move out of the LA area in response to an X-Post by Mayor Karen Bass on Friday.
“Los Angeles openly refuses to work with Ice – Siding Illegal Aliens From American citizens and small businesses. So, immediately and effectively, @Sbagov will begin relocating local offices from LA,” Loeffler wrote in X Post.
“If the city doesn’t protect its people, we won’t stay.”

In a statement Friday, Bass criticized federal immigration enforcement measures in Los Angeles.
“As mayor of an immigrant and proud city who has contributed so many ways to our city, I am deeply angry at what happened,” Bass said. “These tactics inhale fear into our community and disrupt the fundamental principles of safety in our city. My office works closely with immigration rights community organizations. We do not support this.”

As of Saturday night, Bass had not yet condemned the violent riots with her jurisdiction and safety concerns raised by federal authorities.
The mayor’s office did not immediately respond to Fox Business’s request for comment.
