Scarlett Johansson says with AI, “There’s no boundary here.”
Scarlett Johansson won the vocal stand artificial intelligenceafter using the likeness and voice without permission.
Last year, Johansson said that CEO Sam Altman asked her to speak up to the Openai chatbot, but turned down the job only after realising that a feature named “Sky” sounded like an actress.
“Especially in the AI work. It was like this: If that could happen to me, how are we going to protect ourselves from now on? There are no boundaries here. We’re setting ourselves up to take advantage of it.” Instyle Magazine Early this month.
In a statement to NPR after the release of “Sky,” Johansson said, “When I heard the demo that was released, I was shocked and angry, and I believed that Mr. Altman would pursue a voice that sounded so eerie that my closest friends and newslets could not convey the difference. “I don’t have to beat the drums all the time. That’s not my place, but I’m also not afraid of being invalidated,” she said.
Johansson added that after her Hollywood career, which began as a child, she was not embarrassed to speak for herself.
“But now you know I actually made something… I have a place here, and so I could stand up for myself and not feel like I’d disappear. I can take charge of it.”

“We don’t underestimate these things. We will deal with all legal remedies we have,” Johansson’s lawyer told the outlet.
The “Marriage Story” star is just one of many Hollywood’s actions in regards to the portraits used by AI.
