Exclusive: Congressional Republicans are pushing to close the loopholes that prevent illegal immigrants convicted of DUI from being automatically deported.

The bill makes it clear that “any foreigner” convicted or admitted of the offence of “constituent elements of a violation of driving while drunk or disabled” is eligible to file a declaration regardless of whether such a conviction or crime is classified as a misdemeanor or felony under federal, state, tribal or local law.
“During the Biden administration, our country saw a surge in violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants, but they were not accountable,” Hagerty told Fox News Digital.
