It reached its peak with the Thunder Game 7 victory Indiana Pacers Sunday night. Already regular season MVP and Western Conference Finals MVP, Gilgeous-Alexander, scored 29 points and 12 assists in a 103-91 victory.
His clutch performance gave Gilgeous-Alexander the Bill Russell MVP trophy, who recognizes him as the NBA Finals MVP. He scored 38 points in a Game 1 loss and followed it in Game 2, where Oklahoma City had to tie the series together. He scored 31 points in Game 5, pushing Indiana to the brink.
He raised the trophy ahead on the delightful crowds of Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City finished with a 68-14 record – the best NBA. This is the first title since the team moved from Seattle to Oklahoma City. The Supersonics won the NBA title in 1979.
