Signs of China’s “caves” appearing in Trump amid tariff exemption

Chang predicts that tariffs between China and Trump’s US could “continue for a very long time.”
“Xi Jinping put himself in the corner in a box,” he said. “And I believe if he comes to deal with the US, he has to explain it to the Chinese. That would be very difficult for him.”
“Well, I’m dealing with the US now.”
Chang said it looked at whether China is actually “really vulnerable” and reduced its tax revenue in the first quarter by reducing its domestic negative consumer and producer price index.

Gordon Chang, a senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute, places emphasis on key trade talks as China argues in its extensive interview on “Morning with Maria” that talks with the US are not underway and not more.
“When India slapped a 12% tariff on steel a few days ago, it was directed towards China, and we don’t want China to flood the market, as we’re going to see other countries doing the same thing, so that means that it’s really where China is looking for growth,” the experts analyzed.
“But they can’t grow it in the world like they do today. And when you add deglobalization, this is a really bad story for Beijing.”
