“Stop hiding!” Lubin tells Murtazaliev after TKO wins
Erickson Rubin won the mandatory spot to challenge Bakhram Muratazalev for the IBF junior middleweight title last Saturday night in the 11th round of Title Eliminator at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida. by knocking out Ardel Holmes Jr.
After the fight, Rubin (27-2, 19 Kos) called out Murtazariev (23-0, 17 Kos) and told him to “stop hiding,” giving him a deadline until May 18th. Bakulam would have wanted something better than Rubin after knocking out former WBO 154-pound champion Tim Tsey in the third round last October 19th. However, its performance and IBF’s 10-pound re-water chrulation rules scared the top candidates in the division and other champions. Rubin is the best Murtazaliev can get, at least because he wants to fight him.
“Stop hiding!”
“Next, the title shot. I’m fighting for the IBF title. Bakulam, stop hiding! I got it until May 18th. Sign the contract and get it done.” Post-war interview After stopping Holmes Jr.
In other interviews, Rubin hints at putting Murtazariev in the box and showing another aspect of his game. I saw some of it in his battle with Jesus Ramirez.
Social media boxing fans have not given Rubin a chance to beat Murtazaliev as they have been folded in the past while fighting the big punchers. Jermel Charlo and Sebastian Fandra stopped him. Since losing to his fandra, he has hardly ever fought against a good guy for everyone.
Rubin didn’t look that great against Holmes Jr. He was lucky that he was hit with many hits in the fight and that his opponent was not a big puncher. Rubin’s eyes were severely swollen by the end of the battle. And you can say that he really had to push himself to get the victory.
Rubin has undoubtedly lost two of his last four fights, as his unanimous 12-round deciding victory over Jesus Ramirez in September 2023 was a questionable one that could have gone against. If the judge is right, Rubin’s record is 2-2, resulting in a clash with Murtazariev.
