Super Subs Agyemang and Kelly send Lioness to another Euro final
England reached the Euro 2025 final in most dramatic circumstances, with two final goals from a replacement with Michel Aggieman and Chloe Kelly 2-1 victory over Italy.
The Lionesses have reached their third consecutive tournament final and will defend their European title on Sunday despite appearing to be home for a long time in Geneva on Tuesday night after Barbara Bonancy’s first half goal.
However, the Aggieman hit the equalizer during the six minutes of stoppage time. Kelly then played with an extra minute of time after seeing the penalty saved.
Salina Wigman’s side will face either Spain or Germany in Sunday’s final in Basel.
When Britain vs Italy happened
Italy irritates Lioness
Lioness’s first chance fell to striker Alesia Russo. Without a goal in the tournament yet, the Arsenal striker did well to find space inside the box, but her strike had the wrong side of the post on the right.
However, Italy landed the first blow after slowly growing into the game, and England failed to clear before Bonancy took the touch and put a volley to put the underdog in front.

The Lioness responded well and could soon be equal, but goalkeeper Laura Giuliani read the forward’s side foot shots carefully and let it go.
Weigman’s team began the second half and showed more intentions and improvements, but once again there was a lack of quality in the final third.
Still, the Italian threat was Hannah Hampton busy blocking many shots.
Georgia Sternway and Hemp forced more stops from Gigliani, but Azur’s stopper looked desperate to not be beaten as time ran out due to the defensive European champions.
Super Sub Strike
It wasn’t the first time this tournament, and Wiegman turned his eyes to the bench for inspiration, and the player was once again Chloe Kelly.
After acknowledging another goal for the break, Kelly’s first action was to cut inside and get a corner. The resulting header of Lucy Bronze was much closer to another player looping across the goal, but Italy managed to clear it.
Aggie Beever-Jones and Michelle Agyemang were then featured as Wiegman chose what felt like Alessia Russo and Captain Leah Williamson as the final roll of the dice in the tournament.
However, when the super sub appeared to be lacking in magic, the Aggieman stepped up again to six minutes of stop time.

Kelly wins again
I rarely report it in extra time. That was until the final three minutes when the English super submarine reappeared Trump again.
A confident Aggieman almost won one of the tournament’s goals in a loop effort that hit the crossbar.
After a while, they played in about a minute, so England was given a penalty against a foul by Bethmeade’s Emma Severini and stepped on another sub again.
Kelly, the goal scorer who scored England for the Euro in 2022, saw her spotkicks have been saved directly before her spotkick rebounded to another sensational victory when she reached the third consecutive tournament final.
