Sweden and Germany until the last 8
Sweden cruised to the quarterfinals of the Euro 2025 alongside Germany after a comfortable 3-0 defeat to debutant Poland.
The alternative goals of Stina Blackstenius, Kosovare Asllani and Lina Hurtig were enough to ensure the Swedes had their place.
It was a hat-trick on the head as Poland couldn’t handle the ball in the region.
Sweden is the top of the rankings on goal differences ahead of Germany, ensuring that teams will need a draw to win the group when they meet on Saturday.
Germany comes from behind
Lee Schuler scored again when Germany beat Denmark 2-1, but they had to come from behind after Amalie Vancegaard scored for the Danes.
Val Cole was against Favorites until referee Catarina Ferreira Campos penalised Linda Dollman with a 53rd minute foul on Catlin Vege.
Sjoeke Nusken remains cool to equalize from the spot, and Jule Brandt set up a Schuller to wipe out the winner she was about to be replaced.
“I don’t know what’s going on with Lee,” said German coach Christian Wack.

“I know she’s about to leave, so I score the goal,” Wuck said. “But what really sets the goal scorer apart is that you don’t notice her much. I heard she actually didn’t have the penalty box and ball contact in the first half, but she was there and scored that goal too.”
Klara Buhl thought she had broken the deadlock, but the goal was choked after discovering that Nusken blocked goalkeeper Maja BayØstergaard’s views from an offside position.
Germany was awarded a penalty after a Buhl cross attacked Frederick Kegelsen’s arm, but a VAR check revealed that the Roma midfielder was just outside the penalty area. There were no free kicks.
The next var call went down the German path.
“We shouldn’t distract us from that,” Schuler said of the frequent interruptions. “How will that help? A decision has been made. I think we’re strong enough to drive ourselves out of this as a team.”
