Sweden secures the top spot for Group C by hitting Germany


Sweden scored the top spot in Group C in the Women’s Euro 2025 after a memorable 4-1 victory over Germany, which finished in second place.

Germany began scoring early in the 7th minute through the Jule brand, but Sweden responded quickly. Stina Blackstenius was equal after just five minutes, and Smilla Holmberg gave Sweden the lead in the 25th minute.

A key turning point came in the 31st minute when German defender Carlotta Wamser was sent for handball on the line and scored a penalty against Sweden. Fridrina Lolfo converted from the spot, extending the Swedish lead to 3-1.

The Swedes found the fourth to complete a compelling victory in ten minutes from time to time.

With the victory, Sweden finishes above Group C, while Germany secures second place despite losses and advances to the quarterfinals.

Sweden is currently waiting for a quarterfinal opponent as one of the tournament’s inform teams, playing a potential match against England on the cards.

Poland achieved its first tournament goal with historic Danish victory

Poland made history at the Euro 2025, beating Denmark 3-1, marking its first victory and first goal in tournament history.

Natalia Padilla Vidas scored in the 13th minute with a clinical finish and etched her name into Polish football history. Just seven minutes later, star striker Ewa Pajor doubled his lead with a strong header to give Poland an early advantage.

Denmark responded in the second half, with Gianni Thomsen taking advantage of a goalkeeper error in the 60th minute to cut the deficit. However, Poland quickly reaffirmed control in order for Martina Wiangovska to seal the landmark victory in the 77th minute.

Denmark pulled one to set a nervous finish when Signe Bruun rose to its highest, but Poland continued to hold on to secure an impressive victory despite succumbing from the competition.

The result was Poland’s historic tournament run, which finished third in Group C, behind Sweden and Germany. Meanwhile, Denmark ends the competition without points from three matches.
