TCS launches new software-defined vehicle hubs in Europe
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced the launch of three new hubs in Europe to enhance functionality in software-defined vehicle (SDV) spaces.
The new car delivery centre in Munich and Germany’s Villingen Schwenningen, together with the engineering centre in Romania, represent a strategic move to support the automotive industry’s transition to next-generation mobility solutions.
German distribution centres will help automakers develop and deploy software-driven services for autonomous driving, infotainment, safety systems and connected vehicle technologies.
The Romanian Engineering Centre is dedicated to designing and creating advanced automotive software platforms, promoting early stage development and innovation.
This expansion is part of TCS’ long-term strategy to enhance comprehensive automotive software capabilities, from chips to cloud technologies and services.
With the strategic placement of these centres, TCS will work closely with European OEMs and global automotive companies to provide coastal capabilities.
“We are committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Ayaswamy, Senior Vice President & Global Head of Engineering at TCS Internet, Internet of Things (IoT) and Digital Engineering. “These new centers will be able to place TCS at the forefront of automotive innovation and provide cutting-edge solutions with autonomous driving and advanced cockpit systems.
The new centre currently employs over 100 skilled professionals and is working with over 2,000 SDV engineers at a global location at TCS.
This talent pool contributes to the development of next-generation automotive platforms for digital cockpits, infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems, and other critical SDV features, supporting the entire product lifecycle, from concept to production to ongoing support.
Having served European automotive customers for over 25 years, TCS has a well-established presence in the automotive hubs in the region.
The company uses digital engineering, IoT, cloud and data analytics to provide innovative solutions for digital cockpits, electrification, autonomous vehicles, and connected automotive ecosystems.
Additionally, TCS leverages generation AI to accelerate product development, enabling rapid innovation and greater personalization of SDVs.
Anupam Singhal, president and head of business group at TCS Manufacturing, added: “The shift to software-defined vehicles represents a critical moment for the automotive industry. With the launch of these new centres, we are deepening our commitment to supporting the next generation of intelligent, connected and sustainable vehicles.
