Tear-eyed former Tennessee star Candice Car looks back on the legacy of the Pat Summit
Before she wins some WNBA MVP Trophy Candice Parker rose to national basketball fame at the University of Tennessee. Parker is a member of two National Championship Winning Teams and has earned the honor of the best player in the NCAA Tournament.
Parker led Coach Pat Summit during his outstanding tenure. volunteer. Parker, a “NBA” analyst at TNT, took a little time to share whether he continues to carry lessons that the late coach planted several years ago.
“I think eye contact is really, really, really important, and she was the first person to let her see her when she spoke,” Parker responded to co-host Adam Lefcaux’s request to share memorable advice from the summit during the “Story Time” segment.

“And now, I’m at home and when I’m raising my son, he says, ‘Look at me, look at me.’ I wasn’t always aware because I didn’t say she had this crystal blue that she could allow you to run through her legacy. Parker added.

Summit died in 2016 from complications from early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Lefcau thanked Parker and recalled another story the three-time WNBA champion once told.
“We all want you to have a relationship with someone in the way you do it with Pat,” Lefcoe said. “I will never forget to tell you how you came to college. You are hurt, she will sit you there, and you guys will talk. I think it’s a blessing. We don’t have these relationships the same as you, so thank you for sharing these stories.

Parker is also working on the Pat Summit Foundation’s board of directors. The Foundation is looking to advance research into Alzheimer’s disease.

The Summit is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches at College basketball history. She won eight national titles during her tenure in Tennessee.
