Turki Alalshikh is interested in Teofimo fighting IBF and WBO Welterweight champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis. If Lopez loses to Barboza, he can forget to get that Mega Payday chance and will stick to the mini-tournament loser bracket.

Crack of armor

Barboza was the toughest battle since Lopez’s clash with Jamain Ortiz last February, which was considered a decision of the gift given to Theo by a Nevada judge whom he was ruled all over.

Teofimo’s Veneratire

  • Inactive
  • It’s mentally consistent
  • Boxer/Moving Company Issues
  • Can’t handle adversity

Arnold (32-0, 11 Kos) isn’t that fast and doesn’t throw any combinations like Jamaine. He is skilled, moves well and has excellent jabs. It is the weapon Arnold was used to defeat his last two opponents, Jake Qatar and Jose Ramirez.

When Teo is on, he looks great and invincible, but he’s not consistent enough to be reliable. He would have to be 100% to win against Barboza Jr. He is now fighting Ramirez and Catterall at a high level in his recent victory.

“This time he’s more motivated. He has a lot to prove. He’s now defending Ring Magazine. He beat Josh Taylor and is the best in the division right now,” said Teofimo Lopez Sr. Dozen Boxingtalking about his son, WBO Light Welterweight Champion Theo Fimolopez.

“We have to go there and hold that belt and hold that ring magazine, so we’re going to show up on May 2nd and show you why we’re the best,” continued Teofimo Sr. “He’s faster, smarter, stronger, and he’s getting to take it all.”

Mental Minefield

WBO Light Welterweight Champion Lopez’s inactivity and vulnerable mental state put him in danger in this fight against #1 rank mandatory challenger Barboza Jr. (32-0, 11 KOs). It has been nearly a year since Teofimo’s final battle with Steve Claget on June 29th.

He was invisible in the battle, and sat on a large bird-like rope, causing the traveler’s clawet to lower him with his unstoppable heavy gun. Lopez won, but his eyes were so swollen that he looked awful. His promoter, Bob Alm, did not look happy after his battle with his performance.
