The Battle of Jaron Ennis revealed by Adam Booth, the “risky low” offer trainer in Eddie Hearn’s Josh Kelly vs.
Josh Kelly’s manager/trainer Adam Booth says Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn gave them “risory” Offering a fight against Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, held in Philadelphia on October 11th. Booth said he was told he must agree to the offer within 24 hours.
Adam says that Hearn’s offer was “less than half” of what #3 Wbo Kelly (17-1-1, 9 KOS) had made for his 10-round fight. He noted that Hearn went to social media and talked about how he made the offer and that Despicable pressure tactics Forces Kelly to accept the lowball offer.
Booth explodes Hearn’s tactics
“The date was October on the 11th in Philadelphia. The fighting wallet Eddie (Hern) knows is (outrageously) low.” channelpromoter Eddie Hearn talks about the offer Josh Kelly made to fight Jaron “Boots” Ennis.
Ennis investment issues
Ennis’ career investments are not there. If Hearn wants to go for a “boot” fight like Kelly’s clash, he must be willing to pay more than he wants. In other words, invest in Jaron.
It’s similar to how Hahn couldn’t negotiate a fight for Ennis with WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. When Haan failed to sweeten the offer, his fighter “boots” had to fight an IBF-ordered rematch with Karen Chukhazian.
“It’s less than half of what Josh was paid for in a 10-round match, and Eddie knows that,” Booth said of the lowball offer. “The fact that he’s going straight to the media rather than telling me… he said, “I need the answer within 24 hours because I have other options.” Within an hour, I saw it appear all over social media.
Hearn’s pressure play fails
So, Hearn is trying to get Kelly at a bargain basement discount, but it doesn’t work. Kelly got a great payday in London last September in a battle with Ishmael Davis on Turki Aralsik’s Riyadh season card last September. Ennis is on a level other than Ishmael, so he would want an even better wallet than he got for that fight.
If you’re Kelly, you should expect a wallet in the range of at least $2 million for the headliner against Ennis. If Turki was involved, the price should go up even further.
Serious offers needed by Kelly
“If Eddie is taking that fight seriously, he has to talk to me and make a serious offer,” Booth said. “When you really don’t want to fight, you make a lowball offer. You make an offer that you know you’re not enough. That feels like that at the moment, but let’s see what’s going on today.”
The booth is wrong. Hearn wants Kelly’s fight, but he doesn’t have to spend much, so he’s trying to get him at a low price. Of course, Hearn wants this fight as Kelly ranks #3 WBO, and Ennis’ clash will likely be a 154-pound title eliminator. The man is the weakest link of the current four junior middleweight champions. Fighting him would have been a step back for boots from his recent fight with Eymantas Stanionis and Karen Charhajian.
“Don’t put pressure on me. There are other options. There are still ten weeks before the date he mentioned (October 11th),” Booth said.
