The Brewers defeated the Cubs to take the lead in the NL

The Milwaukee brewers were able to beat the Chicago Cubs 8-4 back from a 3-0 deficit, giving them a one-game lead at NL Central and a best record in the National League.

“You know, our team doesn’t feel pressured.” Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich told MLB.com before the match. “I feel like no one really expects us to be here anyway.”

Despite the lack of pressure, it wasn’t the best start for rookie Phenom pitcher Jacob Misiorowski. He gave up two acquired runs in the first innings and recorded an error that allowed the Cubs to take a 3-0 early lead.

“It’s a long inning.” Misiorowski said in a post-match interview. “Suck for long innings.”

Long is a bit of an understatement. Misiorowski was caught up by throwing the first 40 pitches. However, “The Miz’s” teammates didn’t seem to be too bothered by their rocky start.

“I told him, ‘That was my favorite start you had in a big league, let’s be honest,” Yelic said. “Every cruising and ‘punching’ and all of that is fun and exciting, but this shows a lot about what he made there when he hit a fan on him. ”

After a shaky first inning, Misiorowski settled down to the end of the four innings, making Chicago scoreless. He was also able to attack four more batters, including All-Star Pete Crow Armstrong.

“It wasn’t that bad,” Misiorowski said. “Take on. Trust that the team is behind me and go and help me. They did.

“I think it made a lot of clarification.” After the game, Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy said.. “The first innings, we’re down 3-0. He feels horrible… It’s like a fighter being knocked down in the first round and he has to (recover)… He said at that point, “I’m tired.” And he wanted us to go out fifth.

When Misiorowski entered the ditch, the Brewers attack came to life. Milwaukee scored four runs in three innings to take a 4-3 lead. Then in the seventh inning, Yellich hit a two-run homer to lead Milwaukee to 8-4.

“They’re a good team. It’s fun when they’re a good team,” Yelich explained, discussing the difference in expectations between the Cubs and Brewers. “It feels like you’re playing with house money. They’re supposed to win the division. They should have high expectations. They have half of our coaching staff.

The other two brewers hit a home run in the game last night. Andrew Vaughn, the first baseman, and Saru Freric, the right fielder. As a team, Milwaukee finished the night with 10 hits against just three strikeouts. For comparison, Chicago ended with six hits and 14 strikeouts.

“For us, we’re trying to make life difficult for them and the rest of the league. “It’s always been our model around here.”

The Chicago Cubs are looking for an accurate revenge, aiming to see the 3-game series 1-1 tonight against the Milwaukee brewers. The victory will once again help Chicago get back to the best record in the National League. The first pitch of that game is set to EDT at 7:40pm.
