Anne Hertzberg, legal counsel for NGO Monitor, said that while it is not surprising that Albanese will publish a poignant report on Israel, as he has done many times in the past, the latest report was unique.
“I think the difference now is that this report explicitly recommends boycotting, selling and adopting sanctions against Israel in a very obvious way,” Hertzberg told Fox News Digital. She added that despite Albanese being an independent investigator, the report could be interpreted as a UN in favour of the BDS movement. For Israel.
In response to a digital request for comments from Fox News, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said it was working independently, like “special procedure experts,” Albanese.
“The UN Human Rights Office serves as the secretariat for special procedures, but experts serve individual capabilities and are independent of governments or organizations, including the OHCHR and the United Nations,” the OHCHR media team told Fox News Digital. “The views and opinions presented are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of the United Nations or OHCHR.”

Herzog told Fox News Digital that Albanese has crossed the boundaries of her role, and that the report is recommended because the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) does not have the authority to issue sanctions as well.
“It is the UN Human Rights Council where she presented the report, which is under the duties she works, but does not have power under the UN Charter, which issues sanctions,” Herzog said. “And she did not support the report, but by allowing it to be made public, not only overcoming her duties as the UN Human Rights Council, but also overcame the UN Human Rights Council.”
Herzog said he saw a letter of “blackmail and harassment” that Albanese sent to businesses and NGOs. They basically threatened to be on their boycott lists and claimed they were conspiring in international crimes such as genocide, apartheid, self-determination, and the Palestinian bloc.

Israel flips through the official UN table claiming Gaza’s “genocide” with basic questions
Leading UN Business and Human Rights Principles is a voluntary code that allows businesses to sign on as a pledge to be aware of how their operations are run and how their customers are treated. Herzog argued that Albanese “weaponizes this voluntary positive and pluralistic framework,” and that she inappropriately does it and makes it a “binding punitive framework.”
“Not only is she distorting international law, she distorts this UNGP framework. I think she’s basically responsible for destroying the whole business and human rights when this type of activity buys or others start to follow in the footsteps.”
Albanese submitted her report to UNHRC on Thursday. Anti-Semitism patterns and anti-Israel prejudice. ”
The report claims that Albanese has supported Israel in a “ongoing genocide campaign in Gaza.” She repeated the allegations at UNHRC on Thursday, accusing Israel of “being responsible for one of the most cruel massacres in modern history.” She also accused Israel of using the war in Gaza as a test site for new weapons to eradicate people without restrictions.
