Congressional interns were shot and killed Washington DC Monday night.
Eric Tarpinian Yachim, 21-year-old student University of Massachusetts AmherstHe died Tuesday Monday night when he was shot dead in the 1200 block of 7th Avenue in northwest Washington, D.C., around 10:28pm, police said. An adult woman and a 16-year-old man were also shot dead and taken to a local hospital.
According to the metropolitan police station, several individuals left their cars and began firing at groups of people. Tarpinian Jachim is not considered to be the intended target for the shooting, officials said.

According to a statement from his office, Tarpinian Yachim was an intern for Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kan.). He was an advanced student majoring in finance with a minor in political science at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

“I remember his kindness and the way he always welcomed anyone who came into our office with a cheerful smile,” Estes said. “I am grateful to Eric for serving Kansas’ fourth district and the country. Please pray for Susan and me during this heartbreaking time and respect their privacy.”
Philip Peterson, one of Tarpinian Yachim’s friends, told Fox News Digital, “he was a very easy-going person.”
“We met in early January and we really started hitting things,” Peterson said. “After the program we discussed becoming a roommate, but I didn’t want to go back to DC because I’m so light-spending culture. Unfortunately it fell.

Tarpinian-Jachym also participated in a spring fellowship with the American Research Fund, which stated that the university student’s hometown was Aberdeen, Mississippi.
