The league announces regular season games in Germany, the UK and France
The National Basketball Association announced it today Two regular season games between the Orlando Magic and the Memphis Grizzlies for the 2025-26 season will take place in Berlin and London, England. First, the two teams face each other on January 15th, 2026 in Berlin. Three days later, on January 18th, the team will once again face off in London.
The NBA also mapped the 2027 and 2028 European plans. In 2027, regular season games will be held in Manchester, England and Paris, France. Then, in 2028, the league will host games in Berlin and Paris. The game will be held at Uber Arena in Berlin, O2 in London, Co-Op Live in Manchester and Accor Arena in Paris.
“Announcement of the next three regular season games in Europe reflects the incredible momentum and appetite of NBA basketball across France, Germany, the UK and the region.” “We look forward to welcoming the Grizzlies and the Magic to Berlin and London, and captivating fans, players and communities through the events in and around the game.”
This will be the first regular season game in history for the Grizzlies to be played outside of North America.. The franchise previously participated in preseason games held in Spain, Puerto Rico and France.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to represent the NBA and represent the city of Memphis and Tennessee on the Berlin and London international stage,” said Grizzlies president Jason Wexler. “To accept this rare opportunity to bring Memphis to an international audience, we request that the team leave home for MLK Day. However, we are committed to supporting the Memphis community on MLK Day holidays while our team is on our trip.
Previously, Orlando Magic played in 13 games outside the US and Canada. This will be Orlando’s first game in Berlin and third in London.
“Playing regular season games in the Orlando Magic and the NBA in Berlin’s hometown means everything to us. We grew up here, so we dreamed of moments like this,” said Franz and Moritz Wagner, the Magician born in Germany. “On behalf of Berlin and Germany, it is a great honor to show how much we love basketball in the city and countryside. We hope that our kids will be inspired in ways that are inspired to see the game from afar.”
At this time, no dates and participants for the 2027 and 2028 games have been announced. The league is expected to reveal that information before the start of the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, respectively.
Both the grizzly and magic come from the season when they reached the playoffs. At the Eastern Conference, the magic fell to the second seed Boston Celtics 4-1. To the west, the Grizzlies were swept away by the final NBA champion, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
