Charles Byrd, 49, claimed that he was arrested Sunday after a day’s search began after his family contacted authorities, and that Byrd confessed to murdering his wife, Angela Byrd. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar shared details at a press conference.

“He told investigators he had never been troubled by the law before, and then commented on our investigators: “You know, go big, go home,” Salazar recalled. “That was a rather disturbing statement.”
