The New York City gunman who killed four people was targeting the NFL headquarters.

The gunman who killed four people in New York City wrote a note before committing suicide. He claims he suffers from brain diseases related to contact with sports, and he was trying to target the Manhattan National Football League office.authorities said earlier today.

New York Mayor Eric Adams told reporters that investigators believe Las Vegas casino worker Shane Tamra is about to enter the NFL Manhattan office after shooting several people dead in the building’s lobby on Monday, but he stole the wrong elevator bank.

In a three-page handwritten note found in Shooters’ Wallet, Tamura, who played high school soccer in California, claimed that he was suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). He also writes that the National Football League has hidden the dangers of sports from players’ brains for profit.

According to the New York City Police Department, Tamura wrote in a note several times that he was sorry. He also called for research after studying his brain for signs of CTE, referring to Terry Long, a former NFL lineman who was diagnosed with CTE before committing suicide in 2005.

New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tish said Tamra drove around the country to New York City just before the shooting. Surveillance video showed Tamura leaving the BMW early Monday evening and walking down the square at 345 Park Avenue while holding a rifle before entering the building.

Once inside, Tamura fires in the lobby, killing unfair police officer Didarul Islam and attacking another woman who tried to cover up. He then went to the elevator bank and shot another man along the way.

“After he first seemed to pass the officers, he turned to the right, looked at him and let him go out of hospital several rounds,” Eric Adams said in an interview.

Tamura took the elevator to the 33rd floor office of Rudin Management, the company that owns the building.

In a statement, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called the filming “an indescribable act of violence.” He also expressed his gratitude to law enforcement officers who responded to the shooting. Goodell added that the league will increase security in and surrounding office buildings.

“You’re important members of the NFL family,” writes Goodell. “We’ll get through this together.”
