NFL, The Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans have pledged to collectively donate $1.5 million to flood-affected communities in central Texas as the death toll reached nearly 70 on Sunday.
The NFL announced its donation before Texas officials shared the latest updates that “unconfirmed reports of another water wall” were formed and encouraged more evacuation.

“Two Texas-based teams in the National Football League – Dallas Cowboys Houston Texans – We are united with the NFL Foundation to support families and survivors of the heartbreaking flood victims of central Texas,” the league’s statement read.

“Together they will donate $1.5 million to provide both immediate support and long-term resources to those affected by the devastating flood.”
Texan It first announced plans to donate $500,000 on Saturday. Adding donations will provide support and resources to communities “impacted by catastrophic floods.”

“We are heartbroken by the losses and damages our Texas Hill Country neighbours have endured. We are particularly devastated to hearing about our still missing children and hope that they will soon be reunited with their families.”
“Our minds will remain with all affected individuals and, in addition to donations, we will continue to support our search, rescue and recovery efforts in the coming weeks.”
On Sunday, the Cowboys announced it was coincident with the donation.

Carr County officials said more than 12 campers had been confirmed to have died as of Sunday afternoon. One counselor and 11 campers remained immeasurable while the death toll in central Texas rose to nearly 70 on Sunday.
