Koleus A four-legged, easy-to-ride robot is the answer to the question, “What would happen if you put your feet on an all-terrain vehicle instead of a wheel?” Kawasaki has released a video showing what the concept would look like when fully realized.
Trippy Video features Corleo and Riders running through the forest, across fields, leaping over rocky terrain and across snowy landscapes. This video looks like a computer generated primarily with scenery worthy of Lord of the Rings.
Kawasaki is known for its motorcycles and ATVs, but international companies get everything from railroad cars to industrial equipment and robotics.
Kawasaki Colleo’s concept is a rideable robot horse aimed at tackling rough terrain.
Kawasaki has announced the progressive Correo for Japan’s Osaka Expo 2025. This is the 2050 concept model for future transportation. Theme of the exhibition “Designing a future society for our lives.” The event will officially open on April 13th.
Corleo has independent legs, Hydrogen Engine Maneuvering the weight shift.
“While maintaining the joy of riding, the vehicle constantly monitors the rider’s movements and achieves a encouraging sense of unity between humans and machines,” Kawasaki said.
Kawasaki did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Corleo’s plans.
For now, the Corleo is merely a limited model of movement, so the sci-fi dream of riding a kickbutt robotic type on sturdy mountains should be put on hold. Perhaps 2050 will bring us a world full of leggie, rideable robots. For some reason, I feel that is more achievable than a lot of flying cars.
